Cookies and conversation with Trump supporting neighbours

On the morning of election day I wrote this on my Facebook page..

“And no matter what happens today, this weekend I am baking something tasty and bringing it to my neighbours 4 doors down the street with the Trump signs. Whoever ends up as President today... there’s a divide in this country that only conversation, relationship and love can fix and we’ll all need to play our part.”

I'll be honest with you, it really did not occur to me that it would be they who would be celebrating, and me who would be devastated. Nevertheless, the public promise had been made, and I set about fulfilling it. I got out my favourite shortbread recipe and baked up 8 batches, then set off down the road to deliver them, and hopefully, have conversation. The video tells the rest of the story.
