Sweet moments on Camino

So, were there boardwalks today? Yes there were!

But also…

😊 - the sweetest smile from a stranger… I was letting Kate know (in English) that a person was about to pass on her left, then the person moved to her right, so I corrected what I had said. And the person, a young man, who must have understood what I was saying turned around and gave such a sweet smile. It’s hard to describe the sweetness, just open and spontaneous and genuine. It kind of made my day somehow (this actually happened yesterday, but is still vivid in my memory).

🐶 - puppy love from an adorable little Yorkie. Always good for the soul.

☺️ - the kindness of our friends Karen and Robin who rescued Kate’s trekking pole that had fallen off the wall and saved me from walking through the sand!

🌺 - this Camino route has an abundance of absolutely gorgeous flowers on display every day.

🕊️- at one point an extraordinary flock of birds, I’m not sure what kind, swooped and swirled around in the sky. Not as many as you might see in a murmuration, but stunning nonetheless. A moment of beauty and awe.

💋 - and then, finally, Carolina the amazing host and hospitality queen who showered my sweaty head with kisses as she greeted us like long lost family and served up incredibly delicious food!

This day also had it’s challenges of course, aching feet and other various muscles complaining, a strong headwind that made walking more of a challenge. But so much sweetness too! I’m choosing to relish the sweet moments 🤗❤️
